With the approval of the General Directorate of Teacher Training and Education of the Ministry of National Education in 1992, our school opened as an Anatolian Teacher Training High School within the body of the Science High School located on Turgut Özal Boulevard in the city centre.

With the decision of our Provincial National Education Directorate in 1993, the name of our school changed to Prof. Dr. Necati Erşen Anatolian Teacher Training High School. Our school moved to the building in Alibaba neighbourhood in September 1995. It had its first graduates in 1996. In the 2010-2011 academic year, it moved to our current building, where we still continue to the education.

Due to the closure of Teacher Training High Schools, our school has been transformed into a Social Sciences High School with a preparatory class since the 2014-2015 academic year. The school continues to the education under the name Prof. Dr. Necati Erşen Social Sciences High School.

Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, it will continue to its education as a Social Sciences High School without a preparatory class.
